What is Ohio Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC)?
PFCC helps low-income parents in Ohio pay for child care so they can work, go to school, or get job training. Some families must pay a small share based on income and family size.
How do I apply for PFCC?
You can apply in these ways:

Online (fastest) – Use the Ohio Benefits Self-Service Portal → Apply for PFCC online

Paper – Print and fill the JFS 07200 form, then mail, fax, or email it to your local County Department of Job and Family Services.

In person – Go to your local County JFS office.

Email/Fax – Use contact info in the County JFS directory from the Ohio site.
How long does it take to receive funds?
Your county must decide within 30 days of a complete application. After approval, the county sends child care funds directly to the provider.
What do the application steps look like?

Find a child care provider licensed by DCY (use Child Care Search)

Fill out application online or on paper (JFS 07200 form).

Gather documents (see next section).

Submit application and documents.

County review – they may ask for missing items.

After approval, provider receives authorization in TAP/KinderConnect system.

Start care and daily check-in using KinderConnect or device.

Who is eligible?
Families one adult works/goes to school/training or are homeless/OH Works First, with income ≤ 142% FPL (or ≤ 150% FPL if child has special needs). -
What about families over income?
You may still qualify for the Child Care Choice Voucher if income is 145–200% FPL. -
How much do I pay?
You might pay a small co‑payment. This depends on your income and family size. -
What counts as child care?
Licensed centers, Type A/B family homes, preschool, school programs, and ACA-accredited day camps. In-home unlicensed care does not qualify for payments. -
How do I check attendance?
You must check your child in and out every day using KinderConnect or a provider tablet.
