What is RI Pre-K?
Rhode Island Pre-K is a free, high-quality preschool program available to 3- and 4-year-old children living in select communities across Rhode Island. Funded by the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE), RI Pre-K classrooms are offered by public schools, Head Start agencies, and licensed child care providers. The program helps ensure children are prepared for kindergarten and future school success.

What do the application steps look like?

Confirm Eligibility using Mirza Scout. Your child must be age 3 or 4 by September 1 and live in an eligible RI community.

Fill out and submit the application through the online portal during the open lottery period.
